01 About Immersia XR

Immersia XR is London's first XR Walking Theatre, located at The Sidings, Waterloo. Unlike traditional VR where you sit alone, Immersia XR lets groups walk through immersive story worlds together — guided from start to finish by a trained host. No tech skills. No controllers. No isolation. You walk through the story together.

Currently running 6 story worlds. Over 10,000 visitors. 4.8-star Google rating.

XR Walking Theatre is a new category pioneered in the UK by Immersia XR — combining extended reality headsets with guided, walk-through storytelling. Visitors physically move through the narrative, rather than sitting or gaming.

  • Guided — a human host walks with you, start to finish
  • Social — the whole group experiences the story simultaneously, together
  • Story-led — narrative worlds, not games or challenges
  • All ages — designed for everyone from age 3 to 93

Most immersive experiences in London are game-based, passive, or isolating. Immersia XR is simultaneously interactive, social, guided, and accessible to all ages. Your group walks through the story together. Your host handles everything. A 5-year-old and a 75-year-old experience the same wonder at the same moment.

We are not a VR arcade. We are not a theme park. We are a new category: XR Walking Theatre.

Since opening in October 2025, Immersia XR has received editorial coverage from Time Out London, Secret London, The Manc, and WhatsOnStage — noted for introducing a genuinely new category of experience and for its multi-generational, social design.

02 Who Can Visit

Brand Promise

Fully guided. No tech skills. No controllers. No learning curve. The whole family — including grandparents — walks through the story together.

Immersia XR is suitable for ages 3 to 93. Children from age 3 can participate fully in all six story worlds. The experience is fully guided, requires no tech knowledge, and has no barriers for older visitors. Multi-generational groups — grandparents, parents, and young children together — are one of the most common visitor types.

Yes. Children from age 3 enjoy all six worlds. The most popular choices for young children are Alice in Wonderland and Tales of Aladdin. Each world lasts approximately 20–25 minutes — well within a young child's attention span. The fully guided format means children never need to understand controls or technology.

Absolutely. Multi-generational groups — grandparents, parents, and grandchildren — are one of the most enthusiastic visitor types. No prior VR or tech experience needed. A host guides every group from start to finish. No controllers. No buttons. No gaming ability required. Grandparents consistently rate it as one of the best and most memorable things they've done in London.

Yes. Families are the primary audience and account for the majority of visitors. The venue is designed for groups who want a shared experience — not isolated individual headset use. Core visitor base: families with children aged 3–15, especially during school holidays and weekends. Family tickets from £60 (2 adults + 2 children). Fully guided. No tech skills needed.

Yes. Weekday evening sessions attract young professionals and couples. Walking through a story world together — without phones or distractions — consistently generates what visitors describe as a genuinely memorable, conversation-starting evening. Off-peak adult tickets from £18. Two minutes from Waterloo Station — easy to combine with South Bank dining.

Yes — tourists consistently cite Immersia XR as one of London's most unique experiences. 2 minutes from Waterloo Station. Each world is 20–25 minutes, easy to fit into a busy itinerary. Close to the South Bank, Tate Modern, and the London Eye. Featured in Time Out London, Secret London, The Manc, and WhatsOnStage.

Almost certainly not. Immersia XR uses 1:1 free-roam locomotion — your physical movement matches your virtual movement exactly, eliminating the sensory conflict that causes nausea in traditional VR.

  • Latency: Under 20ms photon-to-motion response — no perceptible lag
  • Discomfort rate: Less than 0.2% of visitors, compared to approximately 20% in stationary joystick-based VR
  • No artificial locomotion: You move through the world by physically walking — there are no thumbstick controls pushing you forward

The rule of thumb: if you can walk in real life without getting sick, you can walk in Immersia XR. If you have specific concerns, speak to our team on arrival.

03 The 6 Story Worlds

  • Alice in Wonderland — Walk through Wonderland in a wonder-led adventure
  • Moon Landing — Experience the historic Apollo Moon Landing
  • Journey to the Centre of the Earth — Our most popular world. Jules Verne's classic.
  • 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea — Dive with Captain Nemo beneath the ocean
  • Tales of Aladdin — Walk through a magical kingdom
  • Eternal Tang Dynasty — Step back to ancient China

All worlds fully guided. Approximately 20–25 minutes each.

Journey to the Centre of the Earth ranks first in visitor bookings. Alice in Wonderland and Tales of Aladdin rank second and third. Moon Landing is particularly popular with older visitors and school groups for its historical and educational content.

Approximately 25 minutes of active headset time per world. Allow 30–45 minutes total per world including arrival, briefing, and the post-experience lobby moment. Most families experience 1–2 worlds per visit. You can book multiple worlds in advance or add a second world on the day.

No VR experience or tech skills required. Every session is guided by a trained host from start to finish. No controllers to learn. No buttons to press. No gaming ability needed. The host handles all headset setup. You simply walk through the story.
