What Is XR Walking Theatre? A Simple Guide for First-Time Visitors
XR Walking Theatre is a story-led immersive format where visitors physically move through a digital world instead of sitting down to watch a show or play a game on a screen. At Immersia XR, guests put on a headset, walk inside the story, and experience the adventure together.
For first-time visitors, the easiest way to think about it is this: it combines the feeling of live entertainment, themed adventure and immersive technology in one guided experience. It is designed to be family-friendly and accessible, rather than only appealing to gamers or tech enthusiasts.
At Derbion Centre, Derby, Immersia XR will run from 11 August to 6 September 2026 with six story worlds to choose from, including Alice in Wonderland and Tales of Aladdin. Visitors buy a time slot and choose their story when they arrive. Tickets are available via Fever through the Immersia XR website.
